Report a Policy Violation
For those who have many watchers, and for those who don’t have many, it is hard to know how one retains that interest as well as receive more. This article explores the basics of watchers and how we react to certain situations. Although it does not affect some deviants, and the tips are generally related to common sense, we hope the article is a worthwhile read and that the majority learn something from reading this.

 author's comment: Drawn: 2 March 2005 This is it! The last version of the "Being of Light"! I'm keeping both this and v. 2 in my gallery because I like them each for different reasons. I noticed that as I kept going with this from the original, the intent became less to make a "realistic" drawing and more to create a stylized one. I had an idea of an angel being, rather than the traditional "design", something of a being of light that when it wants to, assumes an approximation of a human form. Since they are beings of pure spirit, though, unless we see them in visions or dreams, they cannot take on a "true" human likeness as do the spirits of the dead. And to assume this humanoid form requires somewhat toning down its true glory, hence the darkness of the human-like areas. That's how it works in my world, anyway.  There are several influences I can see on this design--the most obvious is Hindu drawings of their deities, another is the artwork on the Sigur Rós album Agaetis Byrjun, the artwork for Mechanical Animals by Marilyn Manson, and the last is...in some really weird way I can hardly explain...the artwork from the recent reissue of the album Killswitch Engage. |

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. Our objective is to recognise deviants who deserve more recognition and to feature deviations with less than 10 original comments.
